North Aurora Water Wonders In 2010, NOARDA developed plans for an interactive water feature to be built adjacent to Village Hall. Partnering with local business Aquascape, NOARDA initiated the design of a 125' meandering stream that will invite local children to splash, wade and climb while they are educated about water conservation and the native landscape of Illinois. A rainwater harvesting system and natural water filtration mean that no fresh water will be needed for this project. This beautiful, unique feature will become a destination spot for our community's residents. The water feature will be built through NOARDA's fundraising efforts, local grants, donations from the North Aurora Mothers Club and contributions from the Fox Valley Park District. It is scheduled to be completed summer 2011.
Plans include a 125-foot artificial stream that will reuse rainwater collected from the roof of Village Hall to display several aquatic ecosystems, with interpretive signs to explain the ecological significance of each section.
