That Takes The Cake – Cake Show & Competition

 

NOARDA’s 2nd “That Takes the Cake” Show and Competition was held Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Eden Supportive Living in North Aurora.
Entrants came from across the Chicagoland area and more than 30 cakes were on display for the event.

Demonstrations were given by local “Ultimate Cake Off” celebrities, Bob Brougham of The Cakery North Aurora and Michelle Boyd of Good Gracious Cakes Batavia.  Additional demos were given by Donna Wagner and Yolanda Reyna.  Delicious cakes were available for tasting; donated by Yolanda Reyna of Unique Cakes of North Aurora and Lorena Frias-Hernandez of Romeoville.

The theme of this year’s show was “Having a Ball” and all those in attendance certainly did enjoy a great afternoon.  More than $1,000 was raised for NOARDA, the North Aurora River District Alliance.  Visit www.noarda.org to learn more about the group’s efforts for improving North Aurora’s riverfront including an interactive water feature planned for summer 2011.
