ANNUAL NOARDA EVENTS

Spring Spruce Up at North Aurora’s Island Park
NOARDA joins forces during Earth Week with the Fox Valley Park District for the annual Spring clean-up at North Aurora’s Island Park and Riverfront Park.  Local volunteers meet at the Island Park shelter where the Park District provides garbage bags and reachers to pick up litter along the Fox River.  Snacks provided.

On the first Sunday in June the North Aurora Mothers Club hosts the North Aurora Community Parade. NOARDA hosts the post-Parade party at Island Park which includes local food vendors, bounce houses, Petting Zoo, pony rides, and many other children’s activities.

The afternoon is completed with a Rubber Duck Race fundraiser for NOARDA. Hundreds of yellow rubber ducks swim down the mill race on the east side of Island Park. North Aurora firefighters wait at the finish line to pluck the winning ducks.

Rhythm on the Riverfront Summer Concert Series
NOARDA hosts concerts each summer on the second Thursday of June, July and August from 6:30-8:30. Bands play in the gazebo just west of Village Hall at Riverfront Park. Raimondo’s pizza sells slices of delicious pizza and cold drinks. Visitors bring lawn chairs and picnic baskets.

Parking is available at Island Park, North Aurora Activity Center, and public lots on the southwest side of the riverfront area.

Run For The Riverfront 5k/10k and 1 mile fun run
The original Mooseheart run held early Saturday morning of the fun-filled North Aurora Days weekend (first weekend of August).  The course goes through the beautiful Mooseheart Child City campus and around their scenic lake. Proceeds benefit the riverfront.

Evergreen Holidays
A lighted luminary pathway with decorated evergreens adorns North Aurora’s riverfront for the holiday season. Local businesses and community groups sponsor and decorate lighted trees along the beautiful path of Riverfront Park on the north side of State Street, just west of Village Hall.

The event is held on the first Sunday in December from 4-6 pm.  Activities include tree viewing, bonfires, balloon artists, free hot chocolate, treats, music and more. Parking is available at Island Park, North Aurora Activity Center, and public lots on the southwest side of the riverfront area.
